because this is the way I see it, the way I feel So back to Hard, LOL I know, I know, I just can t help myself Anyways the meaning Solid, firm is really the obvious thing that springs to mind, okay Jesus, I will spell it out for you It s the male member, you guys know I can t use words of profanity or certain sexual words in my reviews, it will get removed Hard also means not easily broken, well this was certainly true for Ryan Unfortunately I can t make any other comment on that because it would give a huge spoiler out, so go read hehe Climate, another interesting word to use for a book title It s a noun word Yep, I have been reading the English dictionary today just for you guys The meaning could be the weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period, but nope that definitely doesn t feel right after reading this story, so I investigated further And this seemslike it, another aspect of life. The title fits the story perfectly, you re probably thinking, I didn t need to know all that codswallop above, well thats the great thing about reviewing, I can say what I like, HA Honestly, I feel like I ve turned into Mango Who s Mango So pleased you asked I will now get back to the story If you are a fan of The Men of London Series , you would have heard about Ryan and Mango previously Ryan was Laverne Debussy Smith AKA Lenny s ex bed buddy Mango is the guy that Ryan has always loved but can t get him to stay in the same zip code long enough to have a relationship with him Capisce You following so far So now that Lenny is settled with Brook Ryan is also ready to take the next step and have a meaningful relationship Nope, Mango is not the settling down type or is he Who knows what s around the corner, the possibilities for Mango are endless, even jail is a strong candidate I have laughed so hard while reading this story This is one of my favourite quotes, Would you please stop trying to drive my nuts through my stomach and calm down and listen to me HAHA Leading up to this part is hilarious and full of profanity, hence why I chose to share this part No story is complete without a little heartache, maybe not everyone cries while reading tragic events, but I sure do I think because I was so involved in this story it made me cry harder I was so sadden by what occurred I just kept thinking, please be okay, please be okay Honestly if I thought for one minute the Author wasn t going to give me a HEA, I would have screamed the house down Oh yeah, I need my happy ever after without it, I can t sleep, I have the book hangover from hell Readers you know exactly what I am talking about I have to say this is another exceptional story to add to The Men of London I really don t know what I will do when this series is over It s a truly amazing gift to be able to not only write a book, but to grasp the hearts of readers that keep wantingSusan Mac Nicol without a doubt you have been blessed with the Midas touch Thank you for another all for how he used Ryan Yet, after persevering, i found his taste sweetened and he definitely made my taste buds tingle My heart broke for Ryan in this at what he goes through, not just because of Mango, but other contributing factors too Mango knows he needs to take drastic action when he s told by Ryan that they are no , a decision which as hard as it was for Ryan to make, it had to be done The activist in Mango realises he s going to have to do EVERYTHING in his power to stop the break up happening Yet, when the self confessed commitment phobe does take action, it seems as though fate has other plans for them.Yet again Susan has put EVERY emotion available into this book It had laughs aplenty from recurring characters as well as the tears of sadness at back stories and the plot I love how this was written and as much as i did hate Mango at the start he gained my love and sympathy eventually, especially when dealing with a really big curve ball thrown at him and Ryan by life Absolutely LOVED IT Take one feisty guy who owns a club where he dresses in drag from time to time Ryan and put him with a rally for the cause guy who just can t commit Mango , and you have a recipe will keep you quickly turning the pages to make sure these guys will still have some kind of happy ending.I loved Ryan, he s a successful club owner, definitely comfortable with who he is and I was proud of him for standing up for himself after two years of back and forth with Mango who for personal reasons won t commit to him permanently Mango gets an earful not just from Ryan, but from his friends as well, prompting him to make a decision on just what is really important to him.Mango s attitude at first rubbed me the wrong way, so the journey in this story of him discovering how badly he wants Ryan and not just as a when I m in town guy , and the cementing of that relationship between them felt like a bit of redemption for his character The two of them are really good together, and as Mango works his way back into Ryan s heart and their relationship gets stronger and stronger, it raised my opinion of Mango as the story progressed. The drama and worry throughout the story, particularly after Ryan receives some troubling personal news, kept me glued to the pages, and in the end Hard Climate wound up as a 4.5 star read for me And just as with the rest of the series, this book is only for readers 18 for adult language and sexual content Lovely story I m so glad that these two found their HEA at last. where he stands in Mango s life, Ryan has had enough and decides to end their relationship, if one can even call it that, for good Manning Mango Munroe has commitment issues, but it isn t until Ryan ends their affair, that he realizes he better get over those soon and make amends with Ryan or he ll end up losing the man for good Unfortunately, fate has other plans in store for them.I love books in which the characters are already in an established relationship, even one as dysfunctional as this one It gives us a different perspective and that is refreshing In this case, Ryan finally has had enough of waiting for Mango to realize that they could have a great life together and is ready or as ready as he can be, loving Mango as he does to move on Mango has lots of commitment issues stemming from his parents death when he was a child, but it isn t until Ryan puts an end to their affair and his friends make him see how badly he s treated Ryan, that he actually turns things around and decides to make the changes needed so they can be together and he can win his man back I adored that he actually had to work for Ryan s forgiveness, even when Ryan was weak against him They were amazing together They were old enough to overcome their past mistakes and move on for them, and mature enough to work for their HEA, even with the curve ball thrown their way I loved seeing Lenny and Brook and I m very curious over Kyle and Eric, so I hope we get their story. All in all, this was a fantastic story Engaging, heart breaking, angsty, yet loving and hopeful, and of course, you can t go play Delilah Delish, drag queen extraordinaire, is the snarky diva side of Ryan who quite often spills over into Ryan s character when he becomes emotional and at the moment his emotions are all over the place due to Mango Manning Mango is a free spirited soul who fights the eco battle for those that need a voice He is actually very good at his job and gets a great deal of satisfaction from it but he also uses it to run from his personal life and he has been using it to run from Ryan for the last two years.Three major things change in their lives at once that turn everything upside down.Firstly Ryan decides he has had enough and he wants and needs a partner that isn t going to run off at the first sign of commitment The knock on effect of Ryan s decision makes Mango FINALLY realise that not being with Ryan is an option he can t even consider he is going to have to change his ways and start opening up about his past In theory both these things should resolve their ongoing issues once and for all but then Ryan has a health scare and everything changes again.Ryan and Mango have to work hard for their HEA They both have trust issues, they both need to open up to each other and they both have to take a leap of faith that everything will work out Great 8th book in an equally great series Original Blog Post Review Hard Climate Men of London 8 by Susan Mac NicolReview by not to like Ryan for putting up with a man like Mango Why should he, you ask The answer is simple really Ryan and Mango, they are meant for each other and even though the road to forever took a long while to go through, at the end of it, they settled and had their forever after taken care of Happily and with a huge lot of grinning along the way.The story of Ryan and Mango is a little bit different for a Men of London installment For one thing, it is the lightest read of the bunch And another, it is the one where the initial reaction is not to like the men involved Fortunately, they quickly grow on you and in the end, you want them to get to that HEA fast The read is light, I say again, but it is not free of perils and woes along the way How the writer, wrote this was to make the reader crave they get the HEA in the most romantic way.HC is another wonderful read from author Susan Mac Nicol, and by the end of the read, you are guaranteed to smile and maybe laugh a little bit and whilst he is very happy that his best friend with benefits is now off the market, and all loved up His true love, Mango, is a man who resists all forms of commitment, yet is always expecting Ryan to be there for him Luckily Mango love the reason for his nickname works out with some very strong prompting from his friends that he perhaps needs to pay Ryanattention He does make a big effort, and I loved watching him being the person that we would like to believe Ryan would fall for Ms Mac Nicol does a brilliant job of getting us right into the story and totally invested in what is happening Really great story, which made me laugh, definitely made me tear up, and is super sexy too It is difficult not to want to imagine future story lines, as this group of guys really get into your imagination I am looking forward to reading the next installment very much 3.5 stars
